IFIRE received the following email from Susan, an activist friend in Illinois. Did anyone else see this sign? Are you offended? Call the hotel and let them know. That's the only way we'll change things.
One person can make a difference! Read this post called Success in California! to see how one woman made a difference. http://www.ifire.org/php_bbbb/viewtopic.php?t=102
What have you seen? What have you done to change things?

I was at a Holiday Inn in Elkhart Indiana, I checked in and then noticed an announcement board they had set up in the lobby. The sign said "Welcome to Holiday Inn" next line, "Feliz Cuarto de Julio." I asked the desk clerk, why it was in Spanish. She said "oh they ran out of letters to spell it out in English."
It upset me, but I went to my room and tried to forget it, but I could not. Tossed and turned over it. So the next day, it happened to be the same clerk. I told her I found it offensive, and that the fourth of July is an AMerican holiday, where English is our language. ANd that it was offensive to me as an AMerican and a Holiday Inn guest. She said well you have the right to your opinion.
Unfortunately if I had been thinking i would have taken a picture, but I did'nt. I will pursue through phone calls to Holiday Inn.
