CALL Congressman Donnelley's office on Thursday, July 29, 2010 to oppose the upcoming march in South Bend (story below).

I guarantee you, there are signatures of illegal aliens on the open letter he's gong to receive from the Amnestyites. He should not listen to illegal aliens who are here breaking our laws and working in our jobs. He is YOUR Congressman and he should listen to you! SB1070 is in the best interest of the citizens of Arizona. It is in the best interest of ILLEGAL aliens NOT to enforce any immigration laws including SB1070.

IFIRE representatives have a 2pm appointment with the Congressman's District Director on 7/29/10 (the Congressman will be in Washington, D.C.)
The marchers who oppose Arizona's immigration enforcement will arrive at his office after 4:30pm on 7/29/10.

TALKING POINTS:

-You support immigration enforcement including Arizona's SB1070
-Congressman Donnelly should not be swayed by a bunch of "undocumented signatures" on the open letter the marchers are bringing him today
-He was elected by citizens to represent them, not foreign interests
-Do not cave in to party pressure to vote for Comprehensive Immigration Reform or the DREAM Act.
-Continue to support the SAVE Act (making E-Verify mandatory nationwide) and push Speaker Pelosi to bring it to a vote
-You read his recent opinion piece (see link below) in the South Bend Tribune and thank him for it.
-His votes on immigration have been good so far. Keep it up.

March next week in South Bend to protest Arizona immigration law
Originally printed at http://www.wsbt.com/news/local/March-ne ... 35534.html

SOUTH BEND — A march to protest discrimination and Arizona’s new immigration law will be next Thursday in South Bend.

The general public is invited to participate, organizers said.

The march will begin at 4:30 p.m. next Thursday at the Jon Hunt Plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center downtown. Participants will march along Colfax Avenue to Congressman Joe Donnelly’s office, where they plan to present signatures on an open letter addressed to President Barack Obama, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and members of Congress. The letter states opposition to Arizona’s new law and similar efforts in other states.

The march then will continue along sidewalks on Main Street and Washington Street to the Civil Rights Heritage Center, 1044 W. Washington St.

Arizona Senate Bill 1070 is considered the strictest anti-illegal immigration measure in decades. The law, set to go into effect next Thursday, has produced national controversy about whether it will lead to widespread profiling of Hispanics. The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against Arizona in an effort to halt enforcement of the state law.

The march is being organized and sponsored by La Casa de Amistad Youth, St. Joseph Valley Project-Jobs with Justice, Michiana Social Forum, LULAC Council 5006 and the AFL-CIO North Central Indiana Labor Council.
