INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two people have been arrested and will be charged in connection with the shooting of an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officer Friday night .
The Marion County prosecutor’s office confirmed Eugenio Gonzalez-Ramirez and Johnny Taboada-Perez were arrested following the shooting. Both men were being held Tuesday in the Marion County Jail, where records show both men were arrested on Aug. 27.

IMPD Officer Dustin Carmack was shot in the hip area as he was sitting in his patrol car, filling out a report after responding to a fight.
According to a probable cause document obtained by 24-Hour News 8, witnesses said they saw a silver Honda pull up and saw the shooting take place.
Police found a silver Honda speeding down Georgetown Road about an hour later. The passenger, clad in all khaki clothing, bailed out of the car and fled the scene on foot, police said. Officers found a bullet casing on the floorboard of the car and arrested the driver, later identified as, Taboada-Perez.
According to court documents, Taboada-Perez told officers he drove three passengers to the liquor store where Carmack was wounded, but could not remember what happened.
Meanwhile, police were notified of an armed carjacking by a man who was dressed in all khaki.
Witnesses also told officers that the man who shot Carmack was seen at an address in the 2000 block of Centennial Street. Police found the stolen vehicle a block away from the address. Officers then set up surveillance of the home. They later observed a man, clad in khaki, coming out of the house and took him into custody.
Police identified the man as Eugenio Gonzalez-Ramirez.
According to the probable cause document, Gonzalez-Ramirez admitted to being in the silver Honda when Carmack was shot. He also admitted to bailing out of the Honda during the traffic stop and carjacking a couple at gunpoint.
Carmack was released from the hospital over the weekend.
Police activity on Centennial Street did not stop after the arrests. On Monday, firefighters found a woman suffering from stab wounds in a burning home in the 1100 block of Centennial Avenue .
Police have stepped up efforts in the area, but at least one area resident told 24-Hour News 8 on Monday that many thing the shooting "should have happened."
